After Ellen Doyle’s death in 1973 the horses were owned, bred or maintained at some point by a large number of people including Doyle cousin Barbara Baird and her former husband Jim Brown, Ed Kelly, Leslie Neppel, Jerry Smith, Deborah Hawley, Danica Piers, Bruce Maloof, Vincent Melzac, Teddy Lancaster, the McNulty family and Carole Lee. Ellen’s children, Mary Kathleen Sloan, Terence and Rosemary Doyle, Susan Doyle Kitterman and Mary Frances Doyle also tried their best to continue the breeding.

1991 brought to a close the trend of horses spreading to different locations. That year, Terence and Rosemary Doyle purchased a farm in Bend, Oregon. Thereafter, the horses which by then had been spread around the world, would slowly find their way back home.
