1929, chestnut Saqlawi Jadran of Ibn Sudan stallion. (Ribal x Gulnare). Bred by WR Brown, he was one of two early foundation stallions of the Doyle family.
“Doc” Doyle purchased Ghadaf in summer of 1950 and sent his son Terry Doyle and family friend Sandy Seip to pick Ghadaf up at a dude ranch in Wyoming. Terry remembers arriving in Wyoming and going trout fishing in the morning and catching enough trout for breakfast. Then they popped Ghadaf in the back of the Ford pickup and drove home to Iowa.
Ghadaf would sire 21 foals for the Doyle’s and others after “Doc” purchased him. Ghadaf died on the Doyle farm in Sigourney, Iowa.
